It is the first image posted by the Duchess since the funeral of her father-in-law Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. The Royal Family is out of its official period of mourning.

The picture is to publicise the royal’s initiative to encourage Britons to read.

In the snap, Camilla sits on a gold gilded chair in her Clarence House home.

She beams at the camera, wearing a black and white dress.

The dress features a large white collar and white pleats in the skirt.

She wearing a fitness watch on one wrist and a number of gold bracelets on the other.

In her hands, she holds her reading glasses, and in her ears dangle a pair of pearl earrings.

Her blonde hair was coiffed in her usual voluminous style.
