Mum-of-16 shares video of her whopping £560 grocery shop that took up THREE trolleys

A MUM-OF-16 has revealed her whopping £560 grocery shop just before lockdown that took up THREE trolleys.

Jeni Bonnell and husband Ray are one of Australia's biggest families, with the mum tasked with doing the food shopping and cooking for all 18 of them.

The grandma uploaded a clip to YouTube as she shared her staggering shop – which contained enough food to feed an army.

Jeni said on the video: “Today is all about cleaning and stocking up our freezer.

“I’ve got two helpers with me, I’ve got Rachel and Nate, and they are going to come and push some trolleys for me.”

She explained that the shopping was done before a lockdown and panic-buying started in Brisbane.

Jeni and her two helpers didn’t hold back as they added a vast amount of supplies to their trolleys.

By the end of the trip, they had filled three trolleys to almost overflowing, and the receipt came to £560 (AU$995.42).

Jeni added: “That’s a lot of groceries in there.

“We had so many groceries I had to get my daughter to come in her car, as my car couldn’t fit them all.

“We’ve got a lot to pack away.”

Back at home, Jeni displayed the huge haul on her kitchen counter, as she talked fans through the items.

Included in her haul was a whole range of fresh foods from tomatoes, mushrooms, cucumbers to carrots.

She also had large amounts of bread, chips, toilet roll, pretzel, peas and pizzas, lollies, dim sums, spring rolls, hot dogs, meat patties, potato, chicken breasts and salami – to name a few.

Jeni said they had to be quick to get the frozen items away, as it is currently summer in Australia.

She said: “Some of the kids are coming back and forth and taking all of these items straight to the shed.

“At this stage we just need to get it into the freezer. Probably late tonight when it is much cooler I will go out and clean the freezers out and repack them there with a list.

“We’ve filled a table here twice and we still had to put groceries on the floor to show you everything we had bought.”

Jeni and Ray have 16 kids including Jesse, Brooke, Claire, Natalie, Karl, Samuel, Cameron, Sabrina, Tim, Brandon, Eve, Nate, Rachel, Eric, Damian and Katelyn.

The family regularly share insights into their hectic life on Instagram and YouTube, with Jeni saying she’s ‘blessed’ to have so many kids.

Meanwhile Jeni showed off her tower of 44 cereal boxes as she insists there’s ‘nothing wrong’ with a little stockpiling.

And she started Christmas shopping in July & gets gifts on credit to make sure she can afford them all.

Plus a thrifty mum shares easy meal planner which has saved her family-of-five £360 a month on food.
