EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley brings the Queen Vic home as she treats herself to her very own bar

EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley’s character Karen Taylor is known to enjoy a good old party on The Square.

Karen has been seen jollying it up in The Queen Victoria pub, The Albert and even Ruby’s nightclub when she isn’t looking after her kids or working in the laundrette.

But, as 43 year old actress Lorraine is now in lockdown, she’s been unable to visit any of Karen’s favourite watering holes for some time.

And, she appears to be missing landlord and landlady Mick and Linda Carter serving her bevies so much that she has decided to build a bar of her own.

Lorraine shared a photo of herself behind her brand-new bar in her home on her Instagram page.

The actress’ snap shows her standing behind the bar, which has a white top, a glass covered shelf and is moodily lit from underneath.

Under the shelf, the bar has cream panels which is bordered with a dark wood. Two bamboo bar stools were placed either side of Lorraine’s new bar in the photo, too.

Lorraine is wearing her hair up in a top knot while covering her shoulders with a multi-coloured cardigan while leaning against her new purchase and flashing the peace sign as she smiled at the camera.

As she shared the photo with her 128,000 Instagram followers, she made a nod to EastEnders as she quoted iconic landlady Peggy Mitchell in the caption.

She wrote: “Get aaaaaat my pub!! #lockdown #impulsebuy #vintage #midcentury #pub #cocktails #delboy can’t wait to dress her!!” [sic]

Lorraine's impulse buy post received more than 5,000 likes from fans, and plenty of comments complimenting her latest purchase.

As one person said: “Absolutely love your chairs,” the soap actress replied: “bought em on FB market place, well chuft with them,” followed by a peace sign and red heart emoji. [sic]

And another suggested Lorraine’s character, Karen, should become the latest landlady of The Queen Vic, as they wrote: “#KarenForTheVic imagineeeee!!” [sic]

To which Lorraine joked: “she’d bar herself,” followed by two laughing face emojis.

A third fan agreed as they suggested Karen should buy the Queen Vic from Mick and Linda, as the latest storyline sees them potentially selling their pub to Phil Mitchell.

They wrote: “Maybe beat Phil to it and you can be the new landlady Karen wins the lottery and buys the Vic”.

Lorraine may not have to wait much longer to get her Albert Square-fix, as it was announced EastEnders will begin filming again in June.

Director of content Charlotte Moore wrote in the Telegraph: “We're also exploring ways to re-start filming on more dramas and other major BBC shows as soon as possible.

“We've been looking very carefully at how we can safely put some of our shows back into production, and I'm pleased to announce that we plan to begin filming again on both EastEnders and Top Gear by the end of next month.”
