Jesy Nelson has seemingly denied recent reports claiming she could be returning to The X Factor as a judge.

The 29 year old shocked fans in December 2020 when she announced her departure from Little Mix after the impact it had on her mental health. However, she wasted no time in getting back on her feet by heading straight to the studio to record new music as a solo artist.

Now, eagle-eyed fans have noticed an update on the Wikipedia page for The X Factor that lists the Black Magic hitmaker as a judge for the show's 16th series, which is expected to return to screens in autumn 2022.

The online page also lists music mogul Simon Cowell, 61, Nicole Scherzinger, 42, and 37 year old Cheryl as judges for the TV series.

However, Wikipedia is an online information platform that allows anyone to edit pages, which means that the hint could be nothing more than an excited fan's wishful thinking.

Despite this, it appears Jesy has denied it all as a one fan shared a direct message the singer sent about the reports.

The follower shared an Instagram post by a fan account, which was captioned: "According to The X-Factor Wiki, Jesy will be a judge on season 16 of The X Factor UK, along with Cheryl & Simon Cowell."

They then asked her: "hi jesy is this true?? we are confused Xx," to which she appeared to respond: "No," followed by two crying with laughter emojis.

OK! Online has approached Jesy's representatives for further comment.

Rumours around her return to the show, that she won back in 2011 alongside Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 29, Jade Thirlwall, 28, and Perrie Edwards, 27, have been circulating for months.
