Kanye West Says He Won’t Drop New Music Until Released From Contracts

Kanye West has threatened that he will not release new music until he is set free from contracts with Sony and Universal.

The singer is engaged in a legal battle against Roc-a-Fella Records, UMG Recordings, Def Jam and Bravado International Group.

“I’m not putting no more music out till I’m done with my contract with Sony and Universal … On God … in Jesus name … come and get me,” West said on Twitter on Monday.

In a series of tweets that followed, he demanded immediate apologies from J. Cole and Drake, proclaimed him to be “the new Moses,” compared himself to Nat Turner, an American slave who led a Virginia rebellion, and described the music industry and the NBA as “modern day slave ships.”

In another tweet that he later deleted, the billionaire musician wrote, “I’m the 2nd richest black man in America … I need all my people with me for us to get free.”

In April, Forbes named the hip-hop superstar turned footwear magnate a billionaire, whose net worth is estimated at $1.3 billion.
