Lucy-Jo Hudson, 38, has shared how she and her boyfriend Lewis Devine, 32, were left bedridden by COVID-19. At one point, Lewis became so ill that he started coughing up blood and an ambulance was called out to their house.

Lucy shared: “We did get the ambulance out at that point, but they told us he was OK and it wasn’t severe.”

Lewis said: “I had it for about two weeks and then I spent a week recovering from it.”

Lucy continued: “I think it took longer for us to get over it because we had Carter. Our families desperately wanted to help, but they couldn’t.

“Family, friends and neighbours would drop off Lucozade and food and milk, but it was so tough. You have this new baby who wants to be cuddled and fed and you’re up at night with them while feeling awful,” she added to OK! Magazine.

The actress shares daughter Sienna, six, with ex Alan Halsall and gave birth to her first child with Lewis, son Carter, back in February last year.

Alan and Lucy-Jo met on set on Coronation Street in 2002 and they went on to marry in 2009.

The couple announced their split in 2016, only to reunite briefly and then announce they were divorcing in 2018.

Since their break-up, the pair have been co-parenting Sienna.

Lucy-Jo later announced she was dating actor Lewis, who she met while working with him on the pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs the previous year.

Tensions appeared to grow between Alan and Lewis, after the Corrie star took offence to him describing his daughter as his own to his 6,000 followers.

Sharing news of his newborn, Lewis’s Instagram tribute included: “Our Sienna is delighted and is already making the best big sister, just like I knew she would!”

Alan posted a strongly worded message on Instagram, which was quickly deleted, insisting Lewis shouldn’t refer to Sienna as his own daughter.

Meanwhile, Alan has moved on himself and is in a relationship with former Coronation Street actress Tisha Merry.

They recently began living together, with Tisha moving into his luxury home that is worth an estimated £750,000.

The couple have also holidayed together and taken young Sienna with them.

Alan, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, admitted he was thankful to the soap for blessing him with his daughter.

He told The Sun: “I’ve been on the show for way more than half my life now.

“I’ve got a lot to thank Corrie for, both professionally and indeed in my personal life.

“I have a little girl, Sienna, and that’s due to Coronation Street in some ways.

“So it’s made a huge, huge impact.”
