Gardeners’ World Monty Don took to social media yesterday to share an update from Longmeadow. The 65-year-old gardener told fans his new summer house was being built in “dribs and drabs” but that it was coming along nicely.
Monty posted a picture of the structure online, in view of his 910,000 Instagram followers.
The image showed a beautiful building made with a mossy green corrugated material, standing proudly amongst the flowers and trees.
“New summer house on the Mound is coming on.
“Doing the work in dribs and drabs but getting there,” he captioned the snap.
Many took to the comments section of his post to share their thoughts on the new addition.
“That’s my kind of greenhouse,” one user wrote alongside a green heart.
“Beautiful and love the colour of the corrugated sheeting,” another added.
Sharing a similar sentiment, a third person remarked: “Oh my goodness, it’s beautiful. You can’t beat corrugated steel in the garden, especially that colour.”
Monty’s garden update came after the presenter revealed that he’s been working on a new international show.
The TV star just returned home after filming the new series abroad.
Ahead of Friday night’s episode of Gardeners’ World, Monty explained that the upcoming release was the reason for his two-week absence from the BBC gardening programme.
“Away from GW tonight (and next week) because I have been filming new series in Italy, Greece and Croatia.

“Back now and resume filming in the garden as normal next week,” he wrote online.
Monty confirmed, via Twitter, that the series will feature the garden he has been working on in the Greek island of Hydra.
“I hope you filmed the garden you’ve been making in Hydra all these years. It would be lovely to see it,” one follower wrote in the comments section of his Twitter post.
“We did,” Monty replied.
Friday night’s episode was fronted by Adam Frost instead of Monty, as will the following instalment.
In the meantime, fans can see updates from his garden in Herefordshire on social media.
Just yesterday, the gardener posted a picture of the colourful poppies which have sprung up where his box hedging used to be.
Monty explained that the seeds had been waiting for years for the exposure of the sun to trigger the germination process.
