Piers Morgan has furiously slammed Lauren Goodger after she said she didn’t believe in face masks and refused to take the coronavirus vaccine.

Good Morning Britain star Piers, 55, called former The Only Way Is Essex star Lauren, 32, a “halfwit” and “imbecile” over her comments.

During Wednesday 6 January’s episode of Good Morning Britain, Piers said: “On the day we discovered a million people have the virus and we’re desperate for a vaccination, she said she doesn’t agree with masks and won’t be taking the vaccine if it’s given to her.

“She said she’s terrified of the vaccine and believes she’s already had Covid and she didn’t die so it’s not a problem.

“Lauren said: ‘I’m more scared of the vaccine than I am the virus’… really?”

He continued: “She said: ‘I don’t like taking medicine, I won’t take antibiotics but I do do aesthetics’… what?”

Piers, who’s son spencer recently ignored Tier 4 restrictions in London to fly to Barbados, then went on to rip into Lauren as he said: “Here’s a picture of Lauren. What do you think she’s been shoving in her face?

“Where does that come from Lauren? What have you been injecting in those lips? Have you checked where it came from? Checked what it is?”

An infuriated Piers continued: “I mean these people are absolute halfwits… they’re not even halfwits, they’re quarter-wits!”

Susanna Reid then asked: “Are you sure we should even give time to people who say they won’t take the vaccine?”

Piers then insisted: “No we have to because unfortunately, she has… Here’s the problem, they are getting attention on social media.”

Susanna replied: “Well let’s not give them any attention,” to which Piers said: “Fine, but they’re already giving their views to millions of young, impressionable people and they’re not getting challenged. And my point is, these reality stars are stuffing their faces with plastic fillings, injections and surgery and so on and are banging off about vaccines. It’s ridiculous.”

Piers then urged Good Morning Britain viewers: “Do not listen to these imbeciles because it will cost lives.”

Susanna then said: “Well let’s not give them a platform” to which Piers said: “They already have a platform and they’re spewing it all over social media all day long. I see it on Twitter, I see it on Instagram, I see it on Facebook. It’s got to stop. These people are wielding a really unhealthy noise to this debate, which will deter young people from taking this seriously.

“It’s ridiculous. Again, I look at her face. She’s put loads of stuff in those lips, she could probably afford to take a risk with the vaccine, which has been approved.”

It comes after Lauren made comments about the vaccine after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced England would be going into a third lockdown.

She told Daily Star: “I am more scared of the vaccine than I am of the virus. I will start imagining that I am dying. I am terrified. I don't like taking medicine. I don't like taking antibiotics.”

Lauren then said: “OK, I do do aesthetics and even now I am still nervous of that – I am like that in general. Even with a facial I want to know what is in it. That is my anxiety over the years.”
