Succession star taken to hospital after being bitten by otters in vicious attack

Succession actress Crystal Finn has detailed her horrific ordeal with a raft of otters last month, who left her covered in bites and heading to hospital with injuries.

The star, who appeared in a season four episode of the drama series, was enjoying a day of swimming in the Feather River near Plumas National Forest in California – but was left far from relaxed after being attacked by the otters during her swim.

Being left with bites across her legs, Crystal shared, "I felt something on my backside and on my leg. I started looking around and yelling out and [the otters] popped up right in front of me. Then they dove down and started going at me again."

Talking to the San Francisco Chronicle, she continued, "‘I could see the bites on my legs and knew I had been bitten on my butt — that one was the worst, but I couldn’t see it. The bites really hurt."

Crystal added that she hadn't spotted the otters ahead of jumping in for a swim, and was unaware of the harm they could cause.

HBO's Succession follows the Roy family, who control Waystar RoyCo, a powerful global media and entertainment conglomerate -showing the family's struggles and grapple for power.

The show came to an end earlier this year after four seasons, being nominated for a whopping 27 Emmy awards. Earlier this year, show favourite Sarah Snook has announced the arrival of her first baby.

Famed for playing Siobhan 'Shiv' Roy in the hit HBO drama – a role for which she won a Golden Globe Award for last year – the 35-year-old shared the news via Instagram, uploading a shot of her and her bundle of joy watching the show's hotly-anticipated finale.

The baby is the first for Sarah and her husband, Dave Lawson, who tied the knot during lockdown. Celebrating the show ending this year, Sarah shared a post to Instagram and captioned, "It's hard to express what this show has meant to me.

"The places I got to go, the immense talent I got to work with… it breaks my heart that it is all over. But my heart had to be this full of all the memories, good times, challenges and triumphs, to be able to break at all… so that makes me grateful."
