SHAKUR STEVENSON apologised to a host of legends as a humiliating 38-year record was set in his latest victory.
The 26-year-old American claimed the vacant WBC lightweight title to become a three-division world champion as he unanimously outpointed Edwin De Los Santos in Las Vegas last night.
However, fans booed throughout the slow-paced boxing bout at the T-Mobile Arena with a host of iconic names ringside.
The likes of Floyd Mayweather, Terence Crawford and Andre Ward were all in attendance for what they hoped would be an explosive encounter.
But they will have struggled to stay awake as Stevenson’s opponent De Los Santos, a 24-year-old Dominican Republic fighter, still managed to write his name into the history books despite the loss – but it was for all the wrong reasons.
He landed a total of just 40 punches in the match.

And after Stevenson had his hand raised following the snooze-fest, he said: “I appreciate Floyd Mayweather, I apologise to him, I apologise to Andre Ward, and I apologise to Terence Crawford.
“They're all my idols and they came out to see a great performance, but I put on a bad one.”
De Los Santos blasted his rival following the final bell, saying: “I came to fight, he came for a track meet.

“He was gifted a title but I am the champion of the people.”
