Primark is just one of the thousands of businesses forced to close their doors amid the coronavirus lockdown going on in England. Primark’s owner, Associated British Foods, says it’s expecting to take a huge £375million hit in sales due to the new measures. In a message to the stock exchange, Primark wrote: “Uncertainty about further temporary store closures in the short term remains.”
The retail giant said it is implementing operational plans which have been set out to “manage the consequences of closures”.
Primark also said it is taking action to reduce its operating costs as a consequence.
The new lockdown means the closure of all non-essential businesses, which includes all clothing shops.
The Government was implemented on November 5 and is expected to end on December 2, but there have already been warnings it could be extended past that.
Can you order online from Primark?
As it stands, Primark does not do online delivery.
This has been a huge talking point this year, with millions of customers questioning why Primark stands among the only shops not to offer online shopping.
Announcing its closure, Primark wrote in a statement: “To our Primark family, in line with Government guidance, our stores in England will be closed from November 5 until December 2.
“We’ll miss seeing you around but look forward to welcoming you back soon.
“The safety and well-being of our valued colleagues and customers remains our top priority.
“We will still be hanging out on social media to provide a little entertainment and to keep in touch. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
Even though Primark doesn’t currently offer online delivery, there are ways in which you can still get your fix.
Amazon regularly sells Primark pieces online from other sellers across the country.

All you have to do is search Primark and you will be able to find a whole host of items from clothes to homeware.
In addition, Primark items can be found on online marketplace eBay.
If there is a certain item you’ve had your eyes on in Primark, it’s worth checking out eBay to see if you can get it delivered to you.
However be warned these items do not come from Primark itself, but rather is being sold by third-party sellers – often at a marked up price.
The closure of stores comes as Primark bosses confirmed they would like to keep shops open for 24-hours-a-day once lockdown restrictions are eased later this year.
The move would be designed to let more people shop in the run-up to the Christmas period.
Chief Executive George Weston said: “If we are able to trade in some store up to 24 hours a day, then we can keep people more separate from each other more easily.
“We can keep the stores safer if everyone knows there are plenty trading hours and they do not have to rush on a Sunday into a six-hour period.”
