Dolphin swept 9 miles inland from Gulf of Mexico by Hurricane Laura — and survived

A female bottlenose dolphin got the break of her life after Hurricane Laura.

The hurricane’s storm surge swept the mammal from the Gulf of Mexico to a Louisiana pond — 9 miles inland.

The Audubon Coastal Wildlife Network, Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network and National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration worked together to rescue the dolphin, New Orleans radio station WWL reported.
