Eurovision enthusiasts have claimed Hannah Waddingham threw shade at Amanda Holden during Tuesday night's live semi-final.
Actres Hannah, 48, hosted the semi-final, which aired live on BBC One, in Liverpool alongside Alesha Dixon and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina.
During the Eurovision show last night, Hannah seemed to playfully take a swipe at Amanda as she explained the voting rules in French.
She added: "You see Europe, some of us Brits do bother to learn another language."
The comment appeared be a reference to Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda's 2022 Eurovision appearance, which saw her announce the British public's vote results via video link to Italy.
"Bon soir. Goedenavond. That is 'good evening' in French and Dutch although I've got absolutely no idea which is which," Amanda infamously said.
Viewers at home on Tuesday night soon picked up on Hannah's comment and wondered if it was an intentional, playful jibe.
"Hannah Waddingham throwing shade at Amanda Holden already?! I love her so much!!!! #Eurovision," one fan quipped on Twitter.
Another added: "Hannah Waddingham throwing Amanda Holden under Le bus, quality shade #Eurovision."
A third wrote: "Hannah throwing SHADE at amanda holden is iconic."
While a fourth declared: "Hannah throwing SHADE at amanda holden is iconic."
The first of two semi-finals took place in Liverpool last night and King CharlesandQueen Camillaeven featured in the show, action, making a cameo during the opening film titled Welcome to Liverpool.
With eyes around the word watching, the film commenced with a heartfelt moment where a young boy from Liverpool learned that his beloved city would be the proud host of the 2023 contest. He then ran through the city, sharing the news with his loved ones.
Along his journey, numerous celebrities and familiar faces make special appearances, each with their own personal ties and connections to Liverpool.
The latePaul O’Grady made an appearance in the clip, having filmed his cameo prior to his deathin March at the age of 67.
As he appeared in the clip, a voiceover said: "Paul took part in this film as he wanted to mark his pride in his home region of Liverpool hosting the contest on behalf of 2022 winners Ukraine."
