Former princess Tessy of Luxembourg has congratulated her ex-husband Prince Louis on his engagement to Scarlett-Lauren Sirgue.

The Grand Ducal Court of Luxembourg announced on Tuesday that Louis, 34, is engaged to Parisian lawyer Scarlett-Lauren – just over one month after ex-wife Tessy revealed she’s expecting her first child with her Swiss businessman fiancé Frank Floessel.

Prince Louis and Tessy Antony de Nassau, 34, share two sons Prince Gabriel of Nassau, 14, and Prince Noah of Nassau, 12, and divorced in 2019 after 13 years of marriage.

Taking to Instagram, Tessy sent well-wishes from herself and her fiancé, as well as the two children she shares with Louis, insisting that she ‘only wishes the best’ for the couple.

Sharing the couple’s engagement photo, she wrote: ‘Finally it’s out too. Gabe, Noah, Frank and I are so happy for you both and wish you only the best and much happiness.’

The official Royal Family Instagram account shared three new photographs to celebrate the happy news last week.

The newly-engaged couple opted for a relaxed-look in knitwear as Prince Louis holds Scarlett-Lauren’s left hand, which features a gold engagement ring.

In the other two more formal portraits, Prince Louis dons a smart suit jacket and pastel blue-coloured shirt, which coordinates perfectly with his 29-year-old fiancée’s pale blue top and trousers.

Scarlett-Lauren first made her first public appearance at the side of Prince Louis – the third son of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess – during an award show one year ago.

A date for the wedding has not yet been set.

In a statement, the royal court commented: ‘We are happy to announce the engagement of our son, Prince Louis, to Miss Scarlett-Lauren Sirgue.

‘Princes Gabriel and Noah join us in surrounding the new couple with all our affection. We wish them immense happiness.’

Born in Bordeaux on 8 August 1991, Scarlett-Lauren is the youngest child of lawyers Pierre Sirgue and Scarlett Sigrue.

At the beginning of her career, she worked alongside her mother in Family Law, before decided to focus more specifically in Victims’ Law.

Scarlett-Lauren works for the firm which was founded by her parents, which is also where Prince Louis works as a mediator.

The happy news comes over one month after former princess Tessy of Luxembourg announced she is expecting her first child with her hunky Swiss businessman fiancé.

Taking to Instagram, the ex royal shared a snapshot of her blossoming baby bump as she snuggled up with financier and CEO Frank, writing: ‘Spring is the perfect time for delicate flowers to grow.’

She is believed to have known businessman Frank for several years, and announced her engagement to him on New Year’s Eve.

In the photograph, Tessy and Frank could be seen cuddling up with one another, while the businessman’s hands gently rested on the mother-of-two’s growing baby bump.

The former royal did not reveal how far along she is or when her due date is expected in her post.

It comes after the couple announced their engagement to one another at the end of last year, with Tessy posting on Instagram : ‘Yes to 2021 and many more years together.’

Frank also shared his own joy over the big news, telling RTL  Today: ‘After having mastered the extraordinary and difficult last year together, I took my chance to take the next step in our relationship and I am overjoyed that Tessy said yes.’

Tessy became a princess in 2006 when she married Prince Louis, with the couple sharing two sons and going on to divorce in April last year

Last year, she told Hello magazine that it ‘took a long time’ after her divorce, when she was stripped of her royal titles, explaining: ‘After every relationship it takes a while to heal when the heart has been broken. It has been really, really wonderful for me to realise that I am able to trust and love again. It’s nice to see that life goes on.’

Tessy went on to reveal how she is ‘very happy’ that her ex-husband Prince Louis maintains a close bond with their sons, despite the fact they can’t see each other during quarantine.

She said her son’s ‘love and trust’ with their father had ‘become stronger’ because of the separation during the pandemic.

Tessy has previously told how her family ‘suffered greatly’ when she became a princess in 2006 after marrying Prince Louis, whom she met in 2004.

Speaking on Sky News special report The Meghan Effect, Tessy explained: ‘My little cousin needed to change schools twice. My twin brother was incredibly bullied at work – he still is today.

‘My sister, my parents suffered, my oldest brother doesn’t talk to me anymore because of that, because it was too much for him to handle.

‘That was when I married in, and when I got divorced, oh my gosh the same.’

Born a commoner, Tessy joined the Luxembourg Army in 2002 at the age of 18, rising to the rank of corporal. Two years later, when she was one of a handful of female UN peacekeepers in Kosovo, she met Prince Louis, who was visiting the army.

His family only became aware of their love affair when Tessy fell pregnant and gave birth aged 19, and unmarried, in September 2005, providing Grand Duke Henri with his first grandson.

It infuriated the royal family, and Prince Louis renounced any claim to the title of Grand Duke due to the constitutional crisis they had created by having a child out of wedlock.

When Tessy married Prince Louis in September 2006, six months after giving birth, in a modest country church wedding, the Grand Duke stripped her of any claim to his title.

The couple’s fairytale marriage broke down in 2016, and they were granted a decree nisi in February last year.

Tessy, who in 2017 was named Woman of the Decade by the Women Economic Forum for her work in women’s empowerment, now lives in London with Gabriel and Noah, while Louis lives in Paris – though she appears to be in isolation somewhere more rural.
