Inside abandoned hotel filmed by urban explorer as nature reclaims rooms

A photographer and urban explorer has shared stunning footage and images of an abandoned hotel that is slowly being reclaimed by nature.

Jordan Hanna, who shares his work on Instagram and his Lost Ireland TikTok channel, filmed a long corridor with a patchy carpet and peeling paint before stepping into one of the old guest rooms that now resembles a greenhouse.

In the double bedroom, moss is growing with zeal in the carpet and ferns are sprouting up from the floor and even the ceiling.

The bed is covered in lush greenery and some smaller plants appear to have taken root inside the mattress.

In another guest room, a twin with water coming in through the ceiling, the decay is even more extreme and a variety of plantlife is climbing up to waist height as it turns into a forest.

The walls are covered with mildew and what might be lichen and several species of fern are fighting for space between the floor and ceiling.

One viewer commented: "I love the way nature claims back."

A second wrote: "Seeing all the plants growing in the rooms makes me so happy for some reason."

"I love this and simultaneously hate the tremendous waste of all the beds and bedding," said a third.

Another person joked: "Seen some hotels in this state still open for business."

Meanwhile, someone else said: "All I can think about is how I can't keep a plant alive to save my life but this hotel is grout the finest greens effortlessly."

Jordan's other work includes images of an abandoned hospital, a redundant cement factory, and a Catholic primary school run by nuns which was left with all the kids' work still on the walls.
