Cheryl Fergison is best known for playing Heather Trott on EastEnders, having starred in the role from 2007-2012 and then again starting in 2016.

As well as EastEnders, the actress, 55, has appeared on Casualty, The IT Crowd and Doctor Who, and also made an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother back in 2012.

Away from the soap, Cheryl is happily married, after previously revealing that she hid her husband’s identity for five months.

Speaking on Loose Women in 2017, Cheryl opened up on her relationship with Yassine Al-Jermini, saying they had an “old-fashioned” courtship.

She said: “We met online and wrote to one another on the computer and spoke on the computer. It was very old-fashioned.

“He didn't know what I did for a living. I didn't show him my picture. It was five months of chat before we met each other.

“I saw him and it was like ‘ping’. I knew he was the man I was going to marry and I had been married once before.”

Cheryl also addressed their 21 year age gap, saying it “doesn’t matter.”

“Thank goodness we're not all the same. I think do whatever you are comfortable with.” she explained.

The couple married at the Selsdon Park Hotel & Golf Club in Surrey 18-months into their romance.

The actress is also a mother to her son Alex, with former husband Jamshed Saddiqi, who she divorced in 2008.

Last year Cheryl took to social media to share a rare photo of her son, Alex, to celebrate his 20th birthday.

She previously revealed that her son suffered from a life-threatening form of epilepsy and “nearly died” as a baby.

The soap star explained: “I totally understand what it feels like to be in the position where your child is not well.

"My son used to suffer from febrile convulsions, so basically he used to have fits and at some points he’d completely be gone.”
