BAYER LEVERKUSEN are interested in a shock loan move for Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams, according to reports.
The full-back enjoyed a breakthrough season at Old Trafford last time out, appearing 36 times in all competitions for the Red Devils.
Williams, 20, has seen his minutes dwindle this term, however, following the summer arrival of Alex Telles from Porto.
But despite his lack of playing time, the youngster isn't short of interest.
Southampton have been linked with making a January loan move, with Ralph Hasenhuttl said to be a big fan.
And according to The Telegraph, Bayer Leverkusen are set to enter the race.
Williams has featured predominantly as a left-back for United, but the Bundesliga leaders like the fact that he is equally comfortable playing on the right.
Peter Bosz's side recruited Santiago Arias on loan from Atletico Madrid to be first-choice right-back this season.
But the Colombian broke his leg back in October, leaving Bosz little option but to dip back into the market.
Leverkusen have previously taken a shine to Arsenal's Hector Bellerin and Liverpool youngster Neco Williams.
But they now have their sights set on borrowing United's Williams.
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently admitted that his young full-back could temporarily make way in January.
He said: "That's something we'll look at in January but we highly rate Brandon so whoever's interested, they're not wrong.
“Brandon has done really well since he came into the team. He had a slow start to the season for different reasons.
“I think he's now coming back to more like himself. I can see more Brandon being Brandon again.
"I've enjoyed him more in training, he's played a couple of 23s games and he has been more involved.”
Williams has played just six minutes of Premier League football this season.
