A mum who put time and effort into her son's packed lunch was slammed for including Spam.
The woman, from Sydney, Australia, had used the canned cooked pork to make creative “sushi sandwiches”.
She also added scrambled eggs and served up sides of crisps, yoghurt and fresh fruit like apples and grapes.
Even though she put a lot of effort into the lunchbox, some cruel Facebook users slammed her for choosing Spam for her little one.
Some even worried the woman’s son would be picked on for bringing the tinned meat into school.
Despite the backlash, many parents sprang to the woman’s defence.
One hit back, asking: “Why does everyone have such a problem with the Spam? I personally don't eat it, but isn't the goal to have fed happy children?
“And any kid who picks on another just for their food choices has unfortunately probably been raised with a small minded parent.”
Another said: “If I ever heard my children making fun of someone else's food, I'd be pulling them up on it so fast their head would spin.”
Other parents praised the mum for thinking outside the box and said they’d be giving sushi sandwiches a go too.
One Facebook user gushed: “That looks delicious and I commend you on your creativity!
“I’ve never seen a sushi sandwich but I may have to try and make it now.”
And another said: “I grew up on spam and so did my kids, love it.
“I always have a can in the cupboard. Will have to try this.”
