Not much beats a nice warm bubble bath, but it sometimes takes a while to achieve the perfect bathing experience.
There’s a whole lot of fiddling with the taps involved in an attempt to achieve the perfect hot and cold water ratio, and then you’ve got to do the toe dip and, if you don’t curse at the heat then, well, you’re good to go!
Someone who doesn’t have to face these bath-related issues, however, is the Queen. Yes, the Queen, it has been reported has to have her bath just right and to achieve this it takes a fair bit of prep.

According to a report from Daily Mail’s royal correspondent Brian Hoey, the Queen, who wakes at 7:30 a.m. every day, only takes seven-inch baths.
You heard right, Queen Elizabeth will only take seven-inches baths which will be prepared by her maid in the morning.
The maid will turn on the radio first thing, so that the monarch can indulge in BBC Radio 4’s Today program and then she’ll enjoy a morning cup of tea (we like to think she’s surrounded by her Corgis by this point), before heading for her seven-inch bath.

According to the report, the depth and temperature have to be just right. Hoey wrote: “Her maid will go into the adjoining bathroom to draw the bath, which has to be exactly the right temperature: tested with a wooden-cased thermometer, and no more than seven inches of water.”
Whilst the Queen is taking her bath, preparations are going on around her, with dressmaker and stylist Angela Kelly laying out her outfit of the day in a dressing room which boasts “floor-to-ceiling mirrors and walk-in wardrobes.”

The Queen, who recently thanked the NHS, key workers and “everyone staying at home” in a coronavirus speech, may also have up to five outfit changes a day, depending on her schedule. Luckily, Angela will have access to said schedule the night before, so she can get prepped.
It turns out Her Majesty is also a fan of a bowl of cereal for breakfast, with The Crown Chronicles reporting: “She usually takes a bath before having breakfast in her apartment alone, and it is usually Cornflakes or Special K cereal and fresh or dried fruit.
“At Christmas, when she usually receives truffles as a gift, The Queen will have scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and a grating of truffle as a festive treat.”
So there you have it, perhaps a seven-inch bath is the way to do it just right!
