Tommy Egan (played by Joseph Sikora) had a rather bittersweet end to his time on Power. After watching his best friend James ‘Ghost’ St Patrick (Omari Hardwick) die in his arms following a gunshot wound inflicted by his son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr), Tommy decided to escape the New York crime scene. After settling scores elsewhere, Tommy was last seen on Power leaving New York for a new life on the west coast of the USA – perfectly teeing up Starz spin-off series, Power Book V: Force.

Shortly after the Power finale caused divided opinions among Power fans, Starz announced the legacy of Ghost would live on in a series of spin-offs.

In fact, Power fans would be treated to four in all with the likes of Tariq and Rashad Tate (Larenz Tate) returning in their own respective shows.

Luckily for Tommy fans, he also landed his own spin-off series, the final in a long line of sister shows.

Power Book V: Force will follow Tommy on his venture for a new life but spoilers and news has been scarce – until now.

  • Power: Ghost star Omari Hardwick wows fans with powerful statement

Tommy actor Joseph Sikora has shed new light on the spin-off series in an interview with The Hot Zone.

Host Jason Robinson asked the Power star: “The big question that we all wanna know now is about your Power spin-off.

“When can we expect that? When is it coming?”

Joseph then revealed: “Well, the writers are deep – they’re writing.

“Because the [coronavirus] pandemic happened when it did, the writers smoothly transitioned,

“The writers’ room hadn’t been open very long before the pandemic hit because the Tommy show was the last one to go for whatever reason.

“But the writers, which was actually a happy accident, that the writers – like how you and me are talking now – this is what the writers do every day and they work for eight hour days every day.”

He added: “So they’re developing these characters, they’re gonna breeze through these scripts.

“Hopefully by the time we’re ready, we’re gonna see how far along the Tommy development of the story is and we’ll watch Tommy try and get his ass out to Los Angeles.”

The Power actor then shed new light on when fans can expect to catch a first glimpse at the series.

He revealed: “So I would say in a practical way you wouldn’t expect to see anything until next year

“But I think it’s gonna be fresh and served up hot, I think it’s gonna be a standalone show that’s gonna be really something special.”

The Moon has entered Sagitarrius today after drifting through the grounded energies of Virgo at the start of the week. Sagittarius is a sign of fire, associated with generosity, humour and idealism. Gemini the Twins is a mutable air sign, representative of affection, curiosity and adaptability.

Today, feel the two celestial bodies mingle with Mars in the sign of Pisces.

According to astrologer Debra Silverman of Debra Silverman Astrology, there is one more player to look out for today – Virgo the Maiden.

The astrologer said: “This is so funny. First of all, let’s start with the Full Moon.

“Energy’s building, Gemini-Sag – our President was born with this – a very wild energy, very uninhibited, says exactly what they think, doesn’t have an off button, childlike fun, playful.

“Be careful cause the mind can go off.”

And with Mars in Pisces, three mutable signs are holding sway.

Mutable signs are typically associated with adaptability and flexibility.

Perhaps the cosmos will ask of you today to find a compromise or adapt to a rapidly shifting situation.

“You can change on a dime, you don’t really have that same point of view, you want to change your clothes, you wanna change your partner, you want to change your job. Change.”

As a result, the atmosphere might seem a bit “wishy-washy”.

But at its best, Ms Silverman said it can influence a lot of creativity.

Use that power of change to come up with new ideas and to stay one step ahead of the game.

Perhaps you will have to come up today with a rapid solution to a new problem.

That is where the influence of the mutable signs will come into effect.

Ms Silverman said: “The release of everything, however, is Virgo, which is mutable, and this means we need a list.”

“You’ve been reluctant to comment about the words and actions of the U.S. president…I’d like to ask you what you think about that. And, if you don’t want to comment, what message do you think you’re sending?” a reporter asked.

Justin then stood silent for an entire 21 seconds.

“We all watch in horror and consternation what’s going on in the United States…it is a time to pull people together, but it is a time to listen. It is a time to learn what injustices continue, despite progress over the years and decades,” he said.

Keith Ellison: 5 Things To Know About AG Who Brought Charges Against 4 Cops In George Floyd Case

After a week of protests over the shocking death of George Floyd, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced that all four officers involved in the fatal arrest will face charges. Here’s what you need to know.

“We’re here today because George Floyd is not here. He should be here. He should be alive, but he’s not,” said Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison on June 3 when announcing that all four officers in George Floyd’s death would face charges. Initially, only Derek Chauvin, 44, — the now-fired Minneapolis Police Department officer who knelt on the back of George’s neck during the fatal arrest – faced third-degree murder charges. Ellison announced that officers Thomas Lane, 37, J. Alexander Kueng, 26, and Tou Thao, 34, would be charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter.

Ellison also said that he will be bumping up charges against Derek to murder in the second-degree, and second-degree manslaughter. “I strongly believe that these developments are in the interests of justice for Mr. Floyd, his family, our community, and our state.” Attorney General Ellison will oversee the prosecution of these officers, so here’s the scoop on this former Democratic congressman.

1. He’s a Detroit native. Keith Maurice Ellison, 56, was raised in Detroit, Michigan by his parents – a psychiatrist and a social worker. He is the third of five sons (four of which grew up to be lawyers, while the other became a doctor.) He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1990, per his official bio. After graduating, he worked three years as a law firm, where he specialized in civil rights, employment, and criminal defense law.

2. He served in the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019. Keith is a former Congressman. After Martin Olav Sabo, a Democrat who was elected to the House in 1978 (and was re-elected thirteen times), announced he was stepping down, Ellison stepped up. Keith was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2002 (and re-elected in 2004.) He decided to run for Sabo’s seat. He won the primary, defeating even Mike Erlandson, who Sabo had endorsed. Ellison would go on to win the seat with 56% of the vote. He served as the Representative from Minnesota’s 5th congressional district until he announced he would not seek reelection in 2018. He served his term until 2019, and Ilhan Omar was elected as his replacement.

3. He has made history. Even though Islam is a religion that’s centuries old, it took until 2006 for America to send a Muslim to Congress. Though he was raised Catholic, Keith converted to Islam when he was 19. His victory over Republican Alan Fine made him the first-ever Muslim the House of Representatives, per NBC News.

Keith stepped away from Congress so he could run for Attorney General in Minnesota. He defeated Republican Doug Wardlow in the 2018 general election by more than 100,00 votes, according to the Washington Post. This made him the first Muslim person to be elected to a statewide office in America, and the first African-American elected to a statewide office in Minnesota.

He was accused of misconduct, but the claims “could not be sustained.” During the campaign for Attorney General, Karen Monahan, an ex-girlfriend of Keith’s, accused him of dragging her off a bed by her feet while screaming obscenities at her. She claimed she had footage of the incident. Keith denied the allegations. The state’s Democratic party launched an investigation, and according to NBC News, a draft of the report noted that her “shifting rationale for refusing to produce the video footage, including that it was lost, was on a USB drive in storage and that it would be too embarrassing and traumatic to release it.” Because of this refusal to produce the evidence, the case was dropped.

One of his children is following him into the family business. Keith was married to his former wife, Kim, for more than 20 years before they filed for legal separation in 2010. They have four children together, including Jeremiah Ellison. He was elected to the Minneapolis City Council in 2017, per CBS News.

The CW Buys Sky’s Patrick Dempsey Drama ‘Devils’ As Net Tinkers With Summer & Fall Schedule

The CW has picked up Sky Italia original Devils, starring Patrick Dempsey, as it continues its acquisition of international shows for its fall schedule.

The move means a slight schedule change to accommodate the hour-long drama with Two Sentence Horror Stories and Dead Pixels moving from their previously announced slots.

The broadcaster acquired the financial thriller from NBCUniversal Global Distribution and will air it on Wednesdays at 8pm on its fall schedule ahead of Canadian import Coroner. It replaces Two Sentence Horror Stories and Dead Pixels in this slot for the fourth quarter with the British comedy now airing over the summer and the horror anthology series moving to Sunday nights.

Devils was a hot commodity given that it is an English-language drama starring a recognizable U.S. star that was in the can before the pandemic forced a production shutdown. Deadline highlighted the show in a recent piece about buzzy international titles that would suit U.S. networks looking for completed shows.

The move also reunites Dempsey, known to a legion of Grey’s Anatomy fans as McDreamy, with The CW boss Mark Pedowitz, who the ABC drama for its first five seasons at Touchstone Television.

Dempsey told Deadline last year that he enjoyed working on an international story with a different perspective on the financial world than the U.S. is used to.

“Everyone’s making their own projects from France to Italy, they’re no longer just waiting for the American market so I think it’s really important that we start collaborating internationally and use [our] visibility to cross pollinate. It’s an incredible time because there are so many stories to be told, depending on which country you’re from with young filmmakers and writers,” he added.

Dempsey stars alongside Alessandro Borghi (Suburra) and Kasia Smutniak (Loro). Based on the best-selling novel by Italian trader Guido Maria Brera, the ten-part series is set in the London office of a major U.S. bank, where the ruthless Head of Trading, Massimo Ruggero (Borghi) from Italy, has been welcomed and introduced to the world of finance by Dominic Morgan (Dempsey), the bank’s CEO. When Ruggero ends up involved in an intercontinental financial war rocking Europe, he has to choose whether to ally himself with his mentor or fight him. The book was partly inspired by the financial crisis that swept global markets in 2008.

It also features Laia Costa (Victoria), Kasia Smutniak (Loro), Lars Mikkelsen (The Killing), Malachi Kirby (Roots), Paul Chowdhry (Swinging with the Finkels), Pia Mechler (Everything Is Wonderful), Harry Michell (Chubby Funny) and Sallie Harmsen (Blade Runner 2049).

The series, which is produced by Lux Vide and Orange Studio and funded by Sky Studios, launched at Mipcom last October and has been sold to 160 territories.
