The CBS hit series aired its final season in 2019, but The Big Bang Theory is still as popular as ever. Amy Farrah Fowler star Mayim Bialik recently posted a throwback clip to her Instagram page, which left fans nostalgic for the series. However, amongst the excited fan responses, it prompted a hilarious reaction from one of her fellow cast members, Barry Kripke star John Ross Bowie.
The Big Bang Theory has remained one of the most popular American comedy series since its debut in 2007.
Bialik starred as neurobiologist Amy Farrah Fowler, protagonist Sheldon Cooper’s (played by Jim Parsons) love interest and, later, wife.
The pair quickly gained popularity as the unconventional pair’s love stemmed from their shared joy of science.
Fans are nostalgic for the series after Bialik posted a throwback clip which showed Amy and Sheldon taking part in the famous game, Fun with Flags.
In the Instagram clip, Bialik is also seen jokingly pretending that she is on Jeopardy after she stepped in as guest host on the quiz show recently.
Bialik joked: “I’ll take Big Bang Theory for 500.”
She then cuts to an old clip of Sheldon and Amy playing a game of Fun With Flags with a mysterious voice in the background answering their questions.
Sheldon begins the game by stating: “And now it’s time for the speed round of flag or not a flag.”
Sheldon Cooper’s Fun With Flags is a podcast/YouTube show that both Sheldon and Amy use as a way to teach others about flags.
The caption alongside the video read: “What is Fun With Flags? #TBBT #Jeopardy #MayimBialik.”
However, Barry Kripke star John Ross Bowie commented on the Instagram clip and jokingly replied: “You cropped out the best part you monster.”
In the original clip of Fun With Flags, Barry was the one playing the game with Sheldon and Amy, and actor Bowie didn’t appear too happy that his character was cropped out of the throwback clip.
It didn’t take long for fans to comment on Bowie’s sarcastic comment, with one saying: “Genuinely hoped you’d pipe up about being cropped out!”
Another user jokingly responded as well, writing: “Right? I was like damn that’s cold [laughter tears emoji].”
“Kripke doesn’t like this video [laughter emojis],” a third wrote.
However, fans were nostalgic for the series, with many commenting how they missed the series.
“Aaaaa I miss you and the other cast of TBBT,” one said.
While another loved the clip, stating: “Love Fun With Flags…. You and Jim are comedy gold [heart emoji].”
The character Barry works in plasma physics at Caltech and he and co-worker Sheldon frequently clash.
He has shown in the past a romantic interest in Amy, especially after Sheldon and Amy briefly broke up.
Barry has previously admitted that he was “creepy, pathetic and can’t get girls”, which led him to sometimes be inappropriate with women, especially when he appeared on Fun With Flags.
Despite their brief breakup, Sheldon later renamed his podcast to Dr Sheldon Cooper and Dr Amy Farrah Fowler Present: Dr Sheldon Cooper’s Fun With Flags.
Sheldon made several episodes throughout the series but it was never very popular, sadly only gaining one follower.
The Big Bang Theory is currently available to stream on Netflix UK.
