‘Change the record’ GMB’s Piers Morgan blasted over ‘painful’ Williamson interview

GMB: Piers Morgan slams Gavin Williamson on ‘ignoring’ question

Piers Morgan, 55, and his Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid, 50, were joined by Gavin Williamson, 44, to discuss when schools were going to reopen following their closure at the beginning of the month. One of the most divisive topics of the interview was how the Government allowed millions of children to return to the classroom for one day and possibly spread coronavirus before a national lockdown was imposed some hours later. Believing this to be a massive failure of authority, the journalist asked the politician several times whether he was going to resign, a question which left some ITV viewers frustrated.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Piers wanting everyone to resign. Change the record #GMB.”

Another added: “#GMB slating Gavin Williamson for not being able to give a date of schools reopening. Then also saying he keeps doing u-turns giving dates which don’t happen.

“The bloke can’t win whether he gives a date (which he couldn’t possibly know anyway!) Or not,” they continued.

A third remarked: “Morgan they don’t answer yes or no questions, accept it #gmb,” whilst others commented on the tone of the heated discussion.”

“This interview with Gavin Williamson is utterly painful watching #GMB,” a fourth shared, with a fifth stating: “Can someone switch Gavin off and on again, please? He seems to be malfunctioning #GMB.”
