Hollyoaks’ Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) came to a huge decision, as she resolved to get rid of vile abuser Pete Buchanan (Kai Owen) once and for all.
The young woman, who was groomed and abused by Pete several years ago, was horrified to learn that the paedophile was not only back in the village, but that he was spotted with a teenage girl.
Cleo, desperately trying to remain positive, instructed Toby Faroe (Bobby Gordon) to stay out it, reminding him that now the police are on the case, it’ll be handled the right way.
However, the police were unable to act on Toby’s information, as they have no proof to back up his claims, and therefore Cleo was left concerned that the abuser would ruin another young girl’s life.
She struggled to focus on anything else, so much so that she started seeing Pete everywhere she turned.
Unwilling to let history repeat itself, the stalwart of the Channel 4 soap made a huge decision, telling Toby how, in spite of what she had said earlier, Pete needs to be stopped.
‘I have to stop Pete,’ she said. ‘Whatever it takes’.
‘What Pete did to me changed me forever. He made me believe that the world is a scary place, and that I’d never see the beauty in it again.
‘He stole my childhood and my innocence from me. If I can stop that from happening to one more little girl…
‘If the police aren’t going to do anything about it, then I will. I need to make sure that he can never hurt anyone ever again. I need to get rid of him for good. I have to do this, Toby!’
Toby, fully supportive, told Cleo that he would help her in her mission, reminding her that she’s not alone.
With Toby and Cleo desperate to get Pete off the streets, will they kill him?
Toby has killed before, that much we know, but will Cleo be able to go through with their plan?
Hollyoaks continues Friday June 25 at 7pm on E4.
