DWAYNE 'The Rock' Johnson's Young Rock biopic has recruited two star-studded additions to its cast in the form of Kevin Makely and Adam Ray.
Earlier this year it was revealed Dwayne, who first found fame as a WWE star, was set to star in his NBC series and would also executive produce the project centred on his formative years, through Seven Bucks Productions.
After leaving fans sobbing with Young Rock's first trailer, and Dwayne's accompanying tribute to his father, the stars playing Macho Man Randy Savage and WWE chairman and CEO, Vince McMahon, have now been revealed.
American actor Kevin took to his Instagram page to post a hunky topless shot showing him as Randy, complete with a snazzy bandana and shades.
The Badland star excitedly wrote in the caption: "I am BEYOND excited and humbled to officially announce that I have the honour of portraying my wrestling hero, the larger than life, the Tower of Power, The one, the only MACHO MAN Randy Savage in the upcoming series @nbcyoungrock.
"The experience was a childhood fantasy come to life!! Thank you @therock @nbc @sevenbucksprod for the amazing opportunity to portray this Iconic man!"
He added: "Stay tuned for more Macho!! Young Rock premiers this Tuesday at 8pm on NBC!! Get ready to laugh, cry and get pumped!!!!"
Meanwhile, Adam adorned his page with a rathermore subdued shot showing his character Vince suited and booted behind a desk.
The Ghostbusters star added the caption: "As my dude DJ just announced on his Instagram, I can now proudly say what part I’m portaying on NBC’s “YOUNG ROCK,” premiering Feb 16th! I’ll be playing WWE Chairman & CEO – VINCE MCMAHON🤘
"The show is incredible. Tune in. Feb 16th. NBC. 8pm.
"Shoutout to @therock sevenbucksprod & @nbcyoungrock for carrying out this insanely heartwarming story❤️"
The NBC trailer for Young Rock proved equally emotional for fans who were touched as California-born dad of three Dwayne, 48, paid tribute to his own father, wrestler Rocky Johnson.
He wrote: "Ladies and gents, here’s your first look at @nbcyoungrock.
"I really wish my dad was around to see this one. Maaaaan he would’ve been proud.
"And yes, I was clearly kicking puberty’s ass at 15yrs old and becoming a tequila tycoon by the time I was 10 😂🥃🤦🏽♂️
"I can’t wait to make you and your families laugh a little and share some life lessons I’ve learned along the way."
His words left Instagram users hugely emotional with one writing: "Your dad would have been so proud."
The wrestler-turned-actor's new project will follow his life through his childhood, teenage years and adolescence.
Announcing the new show on social media, Dwayne, who is expected to appear in each episode, likened his life to Forrest Gump and promised the series would show "the good, the bad, the ugly".
In an earlier Instagram post, he wrote: "I've seen it all my friends – success, failure, homelessness, evictions, suicide attempts, arrests, hard times, good times, low times, high times.
"And all this s**t happened to me by the time I turned 21. This is a show about my young life. And the lessons I learned. The good, the bad, the ugly but ALWAYS FUNNY."
