E! star Ross Mathews looks unrecognizable after he drops 70 pounds and says he 'reclaimed his health' after mom's death

Ross Mathews looks unrecognizable after dropping a whopping 70 pounds.

The E! star, 41, explained that he lost the weight after deciding to "reclaim his health" following his mother's death in the summer.

Ross unveiled his new look on Sunday, showing off his slim figure in a coat and jeans as he posed by a roof terrace in Manhattan.

He wrote: "Breaking the pattern. 50lbs down today from my height in early June when I decided to reclaim my health after my mom died (70lbs down from my all-time).

"I will always be a work in progress. I may mess up again. I dunno. All I know is that I’m very grateful. And very happy. On we go…"

The RuPaul's Drag Race star was inundated with support and praise from his fans.

Presenter Mario Lopez enthused, "Bravo!" while comedian and actress Rosie O'Donnell posted a love heart emoji.

Clearly flattered with the support, Ross shared a photo of himself smiling at his phone on his Instagram Stories and wrote: "Reading all your love on my post about my health thank you."

The presenter's transformation comes after his beloved mother died aged 69.

Ross shared a devastating montage of photos with his mom on May 30 and wrote: "I can’t imagine a world without her. Will colors be less vibrant? Flavors dulled? Laughter muted?

"She was my audience of one, my head cheerleader, my VIP. And now she’s gone, taken before any of us were ready.

"But in her 69 years, my mom made colors more vibrant, made food more delicious and laughed with big-hearted, knee-slapping gusto. She made life better. I hope – no, I know – that her spirit lives within me and I will spend the rest of my life trying to be as good as she was, as kind as she was and authentic as she was."

Ross added: "I am who I am because of how she loved me. We should all be so lucky. Do me a favor: if you can, tell her your mom you love her today. I wish I could, even just one more time."

In October, he paid tribute to his mom on what would have been her 70th birthday.

The TV personality wrote: "A year ago we celebrated her 69th in London and Paris, both fairly certain it could be her last.

"We got plastered on white wine and laughed for hours, just us two. In her honor tonight, toast a glass of Chardonnay on ice and hug your family tightly."

Ross has been vocal about his weight in the past, joking that he's always losing and gaining it.

In 2017, he told Fox 5 DC: "I've lost weight before and I always find it. I've said I should be a weight loss detective, because I always find it again."

Having dropped 50 pounds in 2016 and kept the weight off for a year, the TV star explained that the secret to longevity was walking and eating healthily.

"I'm never hungry, I eat as much protein and vegetables as I want, string cheese, turkey, and carrots," Ross explained.

"So I never feel deprived, I am just not eating the Doritos."
