Madeline Duggan was last seen in EastEnders back in 2010 so of course, she’s changed a huge amount in the last 13 years.
The actress played Lauren Branning from 2006, until Jacqueline Jossa took over the role in 2010.
With over 26,000 followers on her Instagram, 28-year-old Madeline has built up quite the platform since her departure from the BBC One soap and recently shared new pictures on the social media app.
Out for dinner and drinks, Madeline can be seen holding a glass of wine and wearing a black dress, posing into the camera.
‘Three for free’, she wrote alongside.
Madeline has continued her acting career since departing EastEnders, starring in Everyone’s Going to Die in 2013, and a festive music video in 2020.
She also has credits in audio dramas, recently featuring in Doctor Who: The Further Adventures of Lucie Miller.
Late last year, Lauren Branning returned to Walford – of course played by Jacqueline.
She was back for Dot Cotton’s (June Brown) funeral, caught up with Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) and Uncle Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and there was an explosive showdown with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), who’d had an affair with Lauren’s dad Max (Jake Wood).
The fact that Lauren had connections with so many current characters in Albert Square despite having left in 2018 had people speculating that the time could be right for a return to Walford for the popular actress.
Jacqueline quickly shut this down on her Instagram, saying, ‘I am not on the way back to the Square full time, it’s not in talks, I 100 per cent have not confirmed a return.’
She did, however, offer a glimmer of hope: ‘That’s also not me saying I would never go back. When and if the time is right, I would love to.’
She recently reiterated this in an interview with the Mirror in which she reveals that she’d love to return to her old job one day.
‘EastEnders was the best job ever and a huge part of my life – it was the making of me,’ she said. ‘Lauren was a massive part of my life and I’m not ready to let go. I’ve always said to never say never, but it would have to be the right time for me and the show.’
