Emmerdale legend signs up for Dancing On Ice 2024

Emmerdale actress Roxy Shahidi has reportedly joined the 2024 line-up of Dancing On Ice.

The 40-year-old soap icon would be the fifth celebrity confirmed in next year’s star-studded cast.

According to The Sun, Roxy has apparently signed up to take part.

She is best known for playing Leyla Harding in the ITV soap opera, but she is not the first soap star to be added to this year’s competition.

Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney has been confirmed as one of the celebrities to take to the ice.

The publication has also claimed that Roxy has a “secret advantage”.

Away from her acting career, the star is a qualified yoga coach.

An insider told them: “Roxy is extremely flexible so she’ll have no problem getting into some of the more demanding positions needed for the difficult routines she’ll have to tackle.”

Joining Claire will be Love Island contestant Amber Davies, S Club star Hannah Spearritt and World Boxing champion Ricky Hatton.

This is not the first time that Amber has appeared on reality television, as she famously won the third series of Love Island in 2017.

The Welsh star has since sky-rocketed to fame in West End productions such as 9 to 5 The Musical and Back to the Future.

Meanwhile, Hannah is no stranger to the limelight as she is one of the original band members of S Club 7.

Claire joined Coronation Street this year and is best known for her role in the Channel 4 soap Brookside.

During the 2023 series, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson was crowned the winner after a tense final between Joey Essex and The Vivienne.

The 27-year old was paired with professional skater Olivia Smart.

Both Roxy and ITV have been contacted for comment.
