Holly Willoughby brightens up mornings with Phillip Schofield on ITV every weekday at 10am but could she decide to sparkle on Saturday evenings also by signing up to Strictly Come Dancing? In the past, a host of This Morning and ITV stars have taken to the BBC dance floor and bookmakers are predicting Holly will be next.

For many years, Holly has been a rumoured contestant for Strictly but this year could finally be the one.

Ladbrokes have priced the This Morning presenter at 3/1 to sign up ahead of the show’s return.

Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Signing up Holly for Strictly would be a huge coup for the BBC.

“It goes without saying fans would love to see the nation’s sweetheart tackle the tango as well as This Morning.”

Several ITV presenters have been part of Strictly including This Morning’s Alison Hammond.

Alison was partnered with Aljaž Skorjanec and was voted off in week seven.

Could Holly become the first This Morning presenter to win Strictly?

The mum-of-three has been linked with the competition previously and even teased she was ready to sign up last year.

Holly and Phillip welcomed Ballroom and Latin dancer Giovanni Pernice onto This Morning.

The mum-of-three asked Giovanni what makes a good partner on Strictly before admitting: “They’re all saying in my ear, ‘Are you waiting for him to say you?’ Yes!”

“I keep telling you you have to do the show!” Giovanni replied.

“I know, I know, I know, I know. And I love it, you know I love the show. I’m a massive fan,” she replied.

“I think you’d be great on there,” her co-host added.

Meanwhile, bookmakers have been busy piecing together their predictions for the 2021 Strictly line-up.

As well as Holly, Ladbrokes have suggested Professor Jonathan Van-Tam could be set for a stint on the show.

The bookmakers have priced the Deputy Chief Medical Officer at 5/1 to appear on the dance floor.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Van-Tam may have compared himself dancing to ‘Jumbo on ice’ but we reckon he’d be a great fit for Strictly and the odds suggest BBC chiefs may well snap him up later this year.”

Jonathan made the humorous comparison during a Q&A session for ITV News.

However, Strictly professional Janette Manrara thinks he’d be suited to Ballroom dancing if he took part.

Speaking on Jeremy Vine, she said: “I feel like he could be really good in Ballroom because he’s quite elegant and he’s quite tall but definitely taller than me, so I know I’m out of the picture straight away.

“I think I would put him with Nadiya [Bychkova] because she’s a classy, beautiful woman. She’ll take him through all the ballroom really lovely.”

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One later this year.
