Hollyoaks' David Tag announces birth of first child

Hollyoaks’ David Tag has revealed that he’s become a father for the first time.

The actor, who portrays Sylver McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, announced that partner Abi Harrison has given birth to a baby boy.

‘Welcome to the big wide world baby boy,’ he wrote on Instagram, sharing a picture of his own hand holding both Abi’s and his son’s.

He told OK! Magazine: ‘Myself and Abi are both thrilled to share the safe arrival of our beautiful baby boy, born on Wednesday 9th June at 12:14pm’.

‘Both Abi and our little man are doing great and we can’t wait for you all to meet him!’

David revealed that Abi was pregnant back in January of this year, after he took a photo of his girlfriend’s shadow, with the silhouette clearly showing her baby bump.

‘Some good came out of 2020….’ he wrote at the time.

Hollyoaks stars past and present were quick to celebrate the news, posting supportive comments.

Gregory Finnegan (James Nightingale) said: ‘Ah that’s wonderful – congrats mate 🎉 Gx’, while Owen Warner (Romeo Nightingale) added: ‘Big mannnnnnnnnn, congratulations bro❤️❤️’.
