The title of John Wick was eventually changed because star Keanu Reeves kept calling it by the wrong name.
The action flick, in which Keanu plays the titular assassin, was originally called Scorn.
But the actor mistakenly referred to it as John Wick, so often that they just went with it.
Writer Derek Kolstead told Comicbook.com: ‘The only reason it’s called John Wick is that Keanu kept referring to it as John Wick.
‘Marketing was like, “Dude, that’s four to five million dollars in free advertising so far, so it’s John Wick instead of Scorn.” I can’t imagine it being Scorn now.’
The first film in the trilogy, released in 2014, follows a highly skilled ex-assassin who seeks revenge after his dog is killed.
It was followed by two more films – John Wick: Chapter 2 in 2017 and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum last year.
A fourth film is in the works but, like many other movies, production has been halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
John Wick has a huge fan following thanks to its high-octane action sequences and all-round nice guy Keanu in general.
