Katie Price will legally change her name for the first time ever – despite three marriages

KATIE Price has revealed she will legally change her surname for the first time when she marries fiancé Carl Woods.

The former glamour model, 42, has been married three times in the past – but has always retained her moniker.

Speaking to the Mirror's Notebook Magazine, the Loose Women panellist revealed: "I’m going to change it legally and be known as Katie Woods.

"I’m proud of it. It’s going to be a new me and a new era. It's the first and last time the ring is going to be off my finger. My head’s in the right place.

"Not only am I head over heels in love, my kids approve and my family approve. It’s not a rash decision."

Katie got engaged for the eighth time last month to Carl, 32, who previously said he wouldn't marry the TV star unless she took his name.

In an interview with OK! prior to their engagement in October, Katie said: "We’re excited about everything; babies and marriage. I’ve even discussed it with my mum and what it will be like.

"And I'll change my name from Katie Price to Katie Woods – I’ve never done that before."

Carl added: "I wouldn’t get married if you weren’t going to change your name."

Katie said that a change of name had worked for other showbiz titans, including Cheryl Tweedy, who was known variously as Cheryl Cole, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and just 'Cheryl' during her career.

Former Love Island star Carl explained that he wasn't interested in being known as Mr Price – the title some of her exes have been occasionally referred to.

Last week, Katie revealed her wedding to Carl will include plenty of "unexpected" and "never-seen-before" surprises.

The I'm A Celeb alum has insisted that "no one has ever done" anything like their ceremony as she tell fans to "expect the unexpected" from their big day.

Not only have speeches been banned, the mum-of-five has barred celebrity guests from attending to ensure all eyes are on the bride and groom.

Katie told The Mirror: "Put it this way, the wedding that I want, if you Googled it, no one has ever done it before.

"No wall-to-wall celeb faces. It’ll be about us, Carl and our family, coming together as one. I want the focus on Carl as much as me."

Previously, Katie revealed how names struck off the guest list include her exes and the fathers of her children, Peter Andre and Kieran Hayler.

With no distractions from the blushing bride, Katie has pledged to make her wedding entrance epic, as she may not even walk down the aisle.

Katie plans to have the couple's wedding bands, which will both include diamonds, by Jodie and Daisy Rankin.

Her children, Harvey, 18, Junior, 15, Princess, 13, Jett, seven, and Bunny, six, will also be in attendance for the special day.

The media personality's terminally ill mum Amy will also get to see the big day go ahead, as Katie previously insisted her latest romance gave her mum "peace of mind".

Katie and Carl are hoping to have their wedding later this year as Covid-19 rules continue to ease, but are yet to set an official date.

But Katie teased her marriage could be just around the corner after revealing she's already chosen her wedding flowers.

The star, who has previously been married three times, plans to change her surname for the first time to Woods following the wedding.
