Amenadiel (played by D. B. Woodside) frequently butt heads with his devilish brother Lucifer (Tom Ellis) during earlier seasons of the series.

However, after some time trying to persuade his younger sibling to return to the Silver City, Amenadiel has accepted his new life on Earth thanks to his relationship with Linda (Rachael Harris).

Most of Lucifer’s new human friends still don’t know about his horrific secret, with his LAPD colleagues assuming he’s simply an eccentric nightclub owner rather than the literal devil.

Moreover, while Lucifer has always been open about his brotherly relation, the majority of the show’s non-celestial cast believe Amenadiel is adopted, to explain their different ethnicities.

After Lucifer’s partner Chloe Decker (Lauren German) discovered his demonic secret, many fans are waiting for the rest of his friends to also find out the truth.

This includes the LAPD’s forensic specialist Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia), who is under the impression Lucifer is simply a dedicated method actor.

Also, Detective Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro) still believes Lucifer is simply an arrogant British oddball, while some fans have theorised Chloe and Dan’s daughter Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) has known the truth the whole time.

Much of season four followed Chloe as she tried to come to terms with the terrifying revelations about her potential love interest.

Although Lucifer attempted to tell the truth to Ella, some fans were surprised when he didn’t show his ‘Devil Face’ to any other humans in the latest season.

This could all change in season five, though an interview with co-showrunner Joe Henderson suggested the other shoe won’t drop until the newly confirmed sixth and final season.

In an exclusive interview with AssignmentX, Joe teased Lucifer and Amenadiel’s secret will eventually be revealed to those who are still in the dark.

AssignmentX asked: “Of the characters who do not yet know that Lucifer is the Devil and his brother Amenadiel, played by D.B. Woodside, is an angel, are they ever going to find out the big secret?”

To which Joe responded: “Well, that seems like something that might be fun to play with in a final season.”

The plot of season five remains a mystery, though Lucifer will eventually need rescuing from Hell, with ‘Lucifans’ speculating he could be saved with an intervention from new character God (Dennis Haysbert).

Joe’s comments have now spurred more speculation about the two new seasons, and suggest Lucifer and Amenadiel’s secret will be exposed in the sixth instalment.

Whether their secret will only be told to their human friends or possibly made public to the whole world is still unclear.
