Wilmer Valderrama: NCIS star shows off new moustache
The future of NCIS’s ongoing 18th season is once again unclear as its Los Angeles filming location was struck by a spike in coronavirus cases. Thankfully, updates from the CBS show’s cast are still coming thick and fast, with fan favourite Wilmer Valderrama taking to Instagram to confirm his rarely seen mustache has made a return.
Wilmer Valderrama confirmed he’s once again growing out his mustache for his role as Special Agent Nick Torres for the current season of NCIS.
Following some extensive coronavirus delays, the popular CBS mainstay finally made its return in November 2020.
Season 18 will continue with a double bill next Tuesday, January 19, with a double bill and a third episode the following week.
Unfortunately, the rest of the season is clouded with further uncertainty as Los Angeles film and TV productions were once again shut down amid a spike of COVID cases.
The cast and crew have remained positive throughout the show’s ongoing production, with Valderrama dropping in to address his 1.8 million followers with a new Instagram story.
In his latest update, the Nick Torres star danced around his new look by first thanking fans for their positive words about his role in animated film Charming, which recently released on Netflix.
He said: “First of all, I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you so much to every single one of you guys. The feedback on Charming on Netflix was incredible.
“We worked so hard on that movie, so I want to say thank you to everyone who posted, everyone who spread the word, and most of all, everyone who loved it.”

The NCIS star continued his post by promoting his appearance on The Kelly Clarkson show on Monday, alongside actor David Oyelowo.
He finally addressed the elephant in the room, and said: “I know what you’re thinking.”
Valderrama then stroked his new facial hair and laughed: “It’s back! The ‘stache is back.”
Torres famously donned a striking addition to his upper lip during flashback scenes with his partner, Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) in season 17.

In the 16th episode, Ephemera, the long teased romantic pairing stepped into different roles to act out a crime scene in the 1970s.
As Master Chief Art Amador, Torres spies Ellie’s Annie Downing across the dance floor at a Navy gala.
It seems to be love at first sight for the flirtatious flashback pair when Art asks Annie to dance.
Unfortunately for long-suffering NCIS fans, the same still can’t be said for Torres and Bishop when the action cuts back to the present day.
Wilmer Valderrama’s new look has fuelled speculation that the series could once again go back in time for some more romantic role-playing.
Then again, the star also appears to be sporting a trendy soul patch and stubble so his new style could simply be a by-product of quarantining in the time of COVID.
With over half of the current instalment still to come, fans will have to tune in each week to see if Valderrama’s ‘tache makes it onto the series when the cameras start rolling once again.
NCIS season 18 continues Tuesday, January 19 on CBS.
