Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) has had her eyes well and truly opened to the true nature of her monstrous grandfather Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) in Coronation Street as she walked in on him verbally abusing Sally (Sally Dynevor).
With Geoff enraged at Sally for handing over the wedding money for Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) to buy him out of the business, he came over to the house and intimidated her – telling her that she had picked the losing side.
Sally ordered him out but he made himself comfortable and implied that he had advised Tim (Joe Duttine) that the best way to get over her was to get ‘under’ someone else.
Oh, what a gent.
He went on to say that it was Sally’s fault for driving Tim away and that she needs to get used to the fact that blood is thicker than water and his son will never choose her over his own dad.
Mid tirade, Geoff got more nasty still, telling Sally that she was horrible, old and shrivelled up but he was shaken when Faye appeared and admonished him for his horrible words, telling him that it was nasty.
He tried to regain his composure and say that he had been unfair, issuing an apology and claiming Sally had been abusing him for months but Faye’s doubts were clear as she ushered him out of the house.
When Geoff couldn’t resist turning around to give Sally one last dig, it was clear his confidence was rocked.
Is Faye about to tell Tim what she witnessed – and will Geoff lose the only support he has left?
