A sinkhole is set to cause a number of problems for several Coronation Street residents
David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) has had plenty to cope with in recent months.
He’s been determined to fix his marriage to Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding), and things have been looking up as of late, as they’ve bonded in episodes broadcast earlier this year.
However, it appears as if there could be more trouble ahead for the pair, as the cracks in their marriage continue to grow — something which leaves him worried.
Mind you, these cracks could be the least of their worries, as there’s a much bigger one to worry about!
A giant sinkhole in the family’s back garden begins to cause problems not only for the family in question, but for several of the street’s residents.
The question is: what caused the sinkhole?
And what trouble does its appearance bring? Will anyone find themselves in danger as a result?
There are explosive times ahead for several residents in the street over the next few months, and evil Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) will turn his attention to Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) while Yasmeen (Shelley King) is behind bars.
The soap — which was forced to cut down to three episodes a week amid the Covid-19 pandemic — will resume its regular six episodes a week pattern in September.
Coronation Street continues Friday 31 July at 7:30pm on ITV.
