Sharon Beale’s (Letitia Dean) determination to get revenge on Ian (Adam Woodyatt) in EastEnders inadvertently endangered the life of Ollie Carter (Harry Farr).
The BBC One soap’s festive offerings revealed that it was Sharon who was behind the attack on Ian, after she and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) discovered his part in Dennis Rickman’s (Bleu Landau) demise.
With Ian having survived the assault, Sharon has become more determined than ever to get her revenge, and therefore she’s been slowly poisoning him.
In tonight’s edition (January 5), she crushed up some more drugs and subsequently put them in a cup of coffee, which she was then planning on giving to her new hubby.
However, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) popped by for a cuppa, which meant that Sharon had to temporarily abandon her plan.
Little did she know what would ensue.
Yes, as she spoke to Linda, Ollie entered the kitchen and picked up the aforementioned cup.
Sharon witnessed the scene unfold, and yelled at the little lad — something which scared him, and therefore he put the cup down and stormed off.
Linda was confused as to why Sharon acted the way she did, leaving the Queen Vic landlady to argue that the caffeine in the coffee wouldn’t have been good for Ollie.
While she managed to avert disaster and successfully cover her tracks, it’s clear that the experience left Sharon shaken.
She’s clearly struggling with the magnitude of what she’s doing, but will she stop before it’s too late?
EastEnders continues Thursday January 7 at 7:35pm on BBC One.
