When is Star Trek Discovery season 4 out?
Fans of Star Trek will be delighted to hear a fourth season has already been given the green light, shortly after season three made its debut.
The third season landed on October 15, 2020, and it will be made up of 13 episodes, with the final episode airing in January 2021.
Production will start on the fourth season as early as November 2, 2020, and news of the season renewal came to light in a video on the Star Trek Twitter account.
Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Michael Burnham in the series, said: “Oh my goodness, I am so excited to be back on set. It’s going to be great to see everybody and I think we’re going to really love on each other.
“I’m so excited to be giving you a season four and… watch season three! That’s what I would say. That’s what I’m really excited about.”
Co-star Doug Jones was also heard saying he was looking forward to being reunited with his “family” again.
Who is in the cast of Star Trek Discovery season 4?
As previously mentioned Martin-Green and Jones will be reprising their roles as Michael and Saru.
Anthony Rapp could be returning for another season as Paul Stamets – the chief engineer aboard the famous Discovery.
Rapp said on Instagram: “Official @startrekcbs @startreknetflix Season three Lt. Cmdr. Paul Stamets photo. I’m especially proud of the work our writers and directors and cast and crew all did this season.”
Other characters in the series are Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman) – a Discovery cadet, and Hugh Culber (Wilson Cruz) a medical officer.
Season three also introduced David Ajala as Cleveland ‘Book’ Booker, so he may also be carrying on his role in season four.
The next season is bound to introduce some new characters, so Express.co.uk will update this story when an official cast list is revealed.
Is there a trailer for Star Trek Discovery season 4?
Sadly as news of the fourth season has only just come to light, and season three has only just started airing, there is no trailer.
CBS and Netflix will most likely drop a trailer a few weeks before season four is due to air, so fans will be looking at late 2021.
In the meantime, fans can still watch the trailer for season three which shows plenty of action, including the ship crashing in the year 3188.
Michael asks if there is life on the planet and they find out multiple life forms have been detected there.
The trailer introduces The Federation – a union of governments that agreed to work together under a single central government.
The text reads: “Far from home, their fight begins.” Fans can expect plenty of action from the current season and the upcoming one.
