Steven Spielberg Demanded Megan Fox Be Fired From 'Transformers' After This One Comment

Megan Fox is known for her incredibly outspoken personality. The Transformers actor is never afraid to speak her mind, despite the potential consequences. And because of this, the starlet has said some controversial statements about director/producer Michael Bay. These remarks caused her to get fired from his film soon after.

According to Bay, she got kicked out of the Transformers franchise at the request of Steven Spielberg. But why did Spielberg demand that she get fired? Keep reading to find out.

Megan Fox was uncomfortable with Michael Bay’s sexist requests as a director

In an interview with Wonderland Magazine, Fox revealed how aggravated she got with Bay’s sexist directions. While filming Transformers, the Jennifer’s Body actor would ask Bay for directorial advice.

In response, all he would tell her was to “be hot.”

She told Wonderland Magazine in 2009,

“Those are literally his directions some times. ‘Be Hot.’ I’ve had that note on set before. ‘Mike,’ I’ll say, ‘Who am I talking to? Where am I supposed to be looking at?’ And he responds, ‘Just be sexy.’ I get mad when people talk to me like that. Then again, audiences don’t come to Transformers to see us. They’re there to see the devastation and the explosions.”

Over a decade later, in 2020, Fox commented on how she was basically in the front of the #MeToo movement. And sadly, she faced vicious ridicule because of it.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Fox said, “I was sort of in front of the #MeToo movement before the #MeToo movement happened. I was speaking out and saying, ‘Hey, these things are happening to me, and they’re not ok.’ And everyone was like, ‘F*** you, we don’t care, you deserve it because of how you talk, because of how you look, how you dress, because of the jokes you make.’”

Steven Spielberg is responsible for Megan Fox getting fired from the ‘Transformers’ films

According to Bay, Spielberg is responsible for the firing of Fox in the Transformers franchise. In a G.Q issue in 2011, Bay said the actor got fired for comparing him to “Hitler.”

She told Wonderland Magazine, “He’s like Napoleon, and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for.”

And in response, Spielberg said, “Fire her right now.”

But fortunately, Bay wasn’t hurt by Fox‘s comments. Instead, he compares their relationship to that of a “family” where you “say rude things” and then “move on.”

He told G.Q, “I wasn’t hurt because I know that’s just Megan. Megan loves to get a response, and she does it in kind of the wrong way. I’m sorry, Megan. I’m sorry I made you work twelve hours. Sorry that I’m making you show up on time. Movies are not always warm and fuzzy.”

He then added, “When you’re days and months on a set, it’s like a family. You say rude things, and you make up.”

Megan Fox later called Michael Bay ‘lovable’ and ‘lovely’

Fox went from comparing the director to Hitler, to calling him “lovable” and “lovely.”

Talk about a complete 180!

Fox told Entertainment Weekly,

“He was one of the most lovely people that I dealt with in making this movie. I’ve always loved Michael. We’ve had our battles in the past, but even when I’ve been really outspoken about difficulties we’ve had, I’ve always followed up by saying that I have a particular affinity to him. He can be very vulnerable, and he’s very likable and loveable. I’ve always been very vocal about that as well. But, sometimes, we clash because we both have very willful, powerful personalities.”
