Yellowstone first came into our lives two years ago and has become a major success for Paramount Network. The Western drama follows the lives of the Dutton family on Yellowstone Ranch and all of the problems which come along with owning the land. The show was renewed for season four in February and is expected to come out in June 2021.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Yellowstone.
Will there be a Yellowstone movie?
There are going to be some major changes ahead for the Paramount Network, the home of Yellowstone, next year.
The ViacomCBS-owned channel will be re-branding itself, with plans to move away from long-form series television and focus more on TV movies.
For this reason, the Paramount Network will be called Paramount Movie Network with the name being officially changed within the next year.
This will mean a cut back in some television shows to make more room for new films.
The plan for the channel is to show 52 original movies per year which works out as one film per week.
Unscripted shows such as Ink Master, Wife Swap and Battle of the Fittest Couples have all been cancelled because of the rebranding.
Yellowstone has already been renewed for a fourth season and due to its popularity, it doesn’t seem likely it will be taken off the air any time soon.
What’s even more exciting is there have been reports of how this change could impact Yellowstone.
As the network is becoming film-focused and Yellowstone has already proven to be a hit, does this mean there could be a movie on the way?
Outlining the channel’s plan in terms of series, Variety said: “Once per quarter, the network expects to program a miniseries or scripted series on the scale of its hit drama “Yellowstone,” potentially spinning off characters from those projects into their own films or sequels in the future.”
There hasn’t been official confirmation a movie is in the pipeline just yet. But the channel may be giving the show a slightly bigger platform for the time being.

The plan reportedly for Yellowstone is to present the show as a “cinematic experience”.
So instead of just one episode per week, there could be two episodes in a single night with fewer commercial breaks.
Is this how Yellowstone season four will play out when it does start?
After the events of the series three finale, Yellowstone is definitely giving off some movie-worthy vibes.
In a dramatic twist of events, John (played by Kevin Costner), Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) were all attacked.
Gunmen went after both John and Kayce but it seems the latter might have been saved by his phone which the bullet hit.
Meanwhile, a bomb went off in Beth’s office as her assistant opened up a mysterious parcel but it is unclear whether or not the Dutton sister survived the blast.
Has Beth’s time on Yellowstone finally come to an end?
Yellowstone is available to watch on Paramount Network.
