You hunk Penn Badgley looks unrecognisable in first major movie John Tucker Must Die 15 years ago

PENN Badgley currently plays a brooding serial killer in You, but 15 years ago he was unrecognisable as he starred in his first major movie, John Tucker Must Die.

The actor has most recently been taking up airtime as Joe Goldberg in the Netflix hit – which is a far cry from the American teen romantic comedy.

Penn, now 34-years-old, starred alongside Brittany Snow, singer Ashanti and Jesse Metcalfe, who was the titular John Tucker.

While Penn played the the role of Scott Tucker, the underdog to the heartthrob of the 2006 film.

Here his youthful looks were teamed with his dark curly hair, reaching towards his shoulders.

It was after this film, the star went on to play his best known role as Dan Humphrey in Gossip Girl.

The popular series ran for six seasons before coming to an end in 2012.

Penn married singer Domino Kirke in 2017, they have a one-year-old son together and Penn is also step-father to Domino's 12-year-old son.

Most recently Penn has been turning head's on Netflix's You.

The streaming service's hit only just returned with a third series, but fans have already been promised a fourth.

The psychological thriller – which is one of the most-watched shows on the platform – follows serial killer Joe and his strange obsessions with the women he meets.

In the third season, Goldberg and Love Quinn-Goldberg – played by Victoria Pedretti – are now married and have a beautiful baby boy, Henry Forty Quinn-Goldberg.

They have become the perfect poster white-picket fenced suburbanite family in Madre Linda, California – or so you’d think, anyway.

The third instalment has decidedly not veered away from its attempts to sympathise with Joe – including a further dive into his traumatic childhood.

The new episodes also afford similar treatment to Love, who pans between victim and villain during the series.

You is available to watch on Netflix.
