The father of a Texas woman who vanished from a house party said Thursday he’s “terrified” to find out what happened to her — and believes that her boyfriend, former NFL player Kevin Ware, knows “something” about her mysterious disappearance.
“If he’s not responsible, he has to know something,” Stephen Pomaski said of their disappearance of his daughter, Taylor Pomaski, 29, news station KTRK reported.
Taylor was last seen at a party on April 25 at a home that she shared with Ware, a former tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, authorities said.
Her father said the family became concerned when they didn’t hear from her on Mother’s Day.
“It kind of hit us early in the day. We haven’t heard from her in a week and a half, two weeks at this point,” Stephen told KTRK.
The family filed a missing person’s report on May 10 but are still searching for answers in her disappearance.
“I’m terrified for the potential outcome. It breaks my heart,” Stephen told the outlet.
Ware was arrested earlier this month after he allegedly failed to report for bond supervision in connection with previous gun and drug charges in a separate case.
Prosecutors revealed this week that Ware “is suspected of murdering Pomaski” and one of several people being questioned in the investigation, but a law enforcement source said he’s still just a person of interest, KTRK reported.
Ware’s attorney, Coby DuBose, said he had no knowledge of him being a suspect in his girlfriend’s disappearance and that his client has been cooperating in the investigation.
“He’s told the police everything that he knows and he’s led them through his house. He’s let them in his home, and that’s really all we’re going to say about that,” DuBose said.
