Man flashes handgun to steal a single beverage from Bronx deli: cops

He must have been really thirsty.

A man flashed a gun at a Bronx deli clerk to steal a drink, police said.

The not-so-friendly encounter at the Bronx Friend and Family Deli was caught on surveillance video, which shows a man pulling a silver handgun from his waistband and approaching the cash register early Friday morning.

A bottled beverage — what appears to beer or root beer — sits on the counter of the West 170th Street store as the gunman gestures to the cashier, according to the footage.

Apparently the worker was able to placate him, as the gunman put the weapon back in his pants and appeared to calm down before the video cuts off.

The man demanded the beverage for free while threatening the cashier, then ran off with the drink, according to police.

He is wanted for questioning in connection with the incident and was last spotted wearing a Champion sports apparel brand fanny pack and navy blue do-rag.
