Olivia Pratt-Korbel’s killer Thomas Cashman is a ‘dead man walking’ who will give up other crooks for police protection a £250,000 bounty was put on his head, it was reported last night.

The murderer, 34, is currently being kept in isolation in prison for his ‘own protection’ after his abhorrent crime made him ‘public enemy number one in Strangeways Prison.

Cashman was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 42 years after a jury found him guilty of shooting and killing the schoolgirl in her home in Dovecot, Liverpool, on August 22 last year.

A gang insider previously revealed that a £250,000 bounty had been placed on his head as police prod him to share details of illegal activity.

Police hope that the child killer will give up a string of names when he is quizzed over a string of violent offences and drug conspiracies across the North West in the coming weeks.

Police are expected to pressure Thomas Cashman, 34, to give up details about his gang activities in exchange for heightened protection in prison

A source told The Sun that if Cashman wanted continued protection, he would have to talk.

‘They know he realises he’s a dead man walking,’ they added.

The prisoner has been kept isolated from the general prison population for his own protection following his sentencing earlier this month.

The cowardly murderer refused to face the family of the schoolgirl he brutally killed at Manchester Crown Court and instead whined about CPS lawyers turning his trial into a ‘circus’ because they had celebrating putting him behind bars.

A gang insider previously said: ‘There’s fears he will grass to get an easier life in prison as an informer. And also there’s people out for revenge. Cashman is a real target. The £250,000 bounty will entice people.’

Those who ordered the hit are understood to be worried that Cashman will turn over information about gang executions and unsolved murders in an attempt to improve the terms of his imprisonment.

There is concern his testimony would cause a ‘world of pain’ for several big organised crime bosses who ‘do not want their activities being looked at’.

‘He has nothing to lose — he is cornered,’ the source said.

‘There’s lifers who will be mixing with him in months and years to come who will not think twice about carrying it out.’

The insider added that Cashman ‘knows everything there is to know about organised crime, drugs and violence’ in Merseyside.

The two guns used by Cashman on the day he chased drug dealer Joseph Nee into the schoolgirl’s home and killed her have not been recovered, sparking fears they could be used in other crimes.

The 32-year-old has also been linked to the unsolved murder of Karl Bradley, who was found covered in snow in 2013, as well as three other unsolved gangland shootings in Liverpool.

His gangster brother Kirk Bradley, who is currently serving a life sentence for various violent crimes in Liverpool, has ‘a lot of friends’ within the prison community.
