  • Footage appears to show lifeguard kicking man off 10-metre platform in Austria
  • It came after two other lifeguards reportedly asked the man to get down
  • Another lifeguard is then said to have shockingly kicked him off the ladder

This is the horrifying moment a lifeguard kicked a young man off a 10-metre high diving board in Austria.

Eyewitness reports claim that a young man stood at the top of the platform refused to come down, so was brutally booted from the high ladder by the pool’s lifeguard.

After two other lifeguards reportedly both asked the man to get down, another intervened by forcefully taking matters into his hands.

According to Austrian publication OÖNachrichten, internal investigations are still ongoing within the company, with the employee concerned having gone on holiday following the incident.

A statement from Steyrer Stadtbades – the authority in charge of the swimming pool where the incident took place – confirmed that the lifeguard worked for their company and did kick a man off the platform.

It is unclear when the incident shown in the video – that was posted on Bild – occurred.

Local council authorities are also investigating the incident as they seek to resolve the issue, according to Today Times.

The SBS statement reads: ‘SBS will do everything they can so that the Steyrer, and the Steyrer in the future can bring an enjoyable and comfortable time at Steyrer Stadtbad.’

‘A lifeguards job is to ensure the safety of customers. Therefore it is very regrettable that the lifeguard was involved with the fall.

‘We are doing all we can to be clear of the circumstances.’

After meeting with pool guests who were present at the time, SBS also apologised for the ‘lapse of judgement’ shown by the lifeguard.
